Deciding who to trust with caring for your children is one of the most
important -- and nerve-wracking -- tasks you can take on as a parent. So we
asked Kathy Braddock and Tory Masters, authors of The Intrepid New Yorker, to tell us

"Our philosophy," says San Diego Nannies owner Nancy Lofgren,
"is that we won't take on any nanny candidates that we wouldn't have in
our own homes." To find out if the candidates pass muster, the agency
does extensive background and reference checks in addition to putting them
through a grueling one-on-one interview session. And to further guarantee
that everything works out, the agency offers a 90-day warranty policy that
allows customers to back out of the selection if the match isn't right. The
12-year-old agency services the entire San Diego metro area, including
